ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team closed out its final regular-season road trip with a victory, national-level results and career-best performances between meets at Virginia and Stanford on Saturday (April 20).
Chloe Foster notched her second victory of the weekend and Alice Hill made her 2019 steeplechase debut at the Stanford Cardinal Classic, while several women finished in the top 10 at the Virginia Challenge.
More information on both meets can be found below.
With this final road trip of the regular season now in the books, the Wolverines will have next weekend off from competition for final exams. Michigan will have one final regular-season competition as it hosts the new U-M Outdoor Track and Field Stadium's first-ever outdoor competition -- the Len Paddock Open -- on Friday, May 3.

The Wolverine women accumulated several national-caliber performances, a few career-best performances and a victory in the final day of competition at the Stanford Cardinal Classic on Saturday.
Alice Hill, competing in her first NCAA-sponsored steeplechase competition -- she only ran the event at the USATF and IAAF World U20 championship meets in 2018 -- clocked a strong 10:04.58 to finish fourth.
Hill ran up front in the lead pack for much of the race, until the eventual winners from Furman pulled away in the closing laps.
By holding strong in the late stages of the race despite losing contact with the front of the race, Hill wound up with a time that leads the Big Ten and ranks No. 5 in the NCAA East Region and No. 8 in the nation.
Michigan's lone victory of the day came courtesy of Chloe Foster. After claiming the 400-meter hurdles title on Friday, Foster doubled back on Saturday to win the open 400 meters in a career-best 54.47. The time moves her up to No. 9 in school history in the event.
Meg Darmofal led the way for the Wolverine women in the 1,500 meters, clocking a 4:21.40 for sixth in the invitational section of the competition.
In section two, Micaela DeGenero held her own in a wild finish and earned herself a more-than-two-second career best as a result. After taking the lead with just over 200 meters to go, DeGenero found herself in a six-way battle for the win coming off the final turn. Despite initially responding to the field's move, DeGenero was passed by three competitors en route to a 4:23.03.
Not only was the effort far superior to her previous 4:25.45 personal record, it puts in her in position to potentially qualify for the NCAA East Preliminaries in the event. Reserved for the top-48 student-athletes in each event, the Prelims serve as the opening rounds of the NCAA Championships.

Wolverine field event performers turned in several strong performances on the final day of competition at the Virginia Challenge.
Katt Miner finished fourth overall in the invitational section of the high jump, getting a timely third-and-final attempt clearance at 1.70m (5 feet, 7 inches) to stay alive in the competition.
Competing in non-invitational sections, both Jeryne Fish and Bailey Baker advanced to the finals in their respective events.
Fish had one of the most consistent performances of her career in a seventh-place finish in the long jump, leaping 5.69m (18-8) (+2.0m/s) as she surpassed 5.60m on four of her six attempts.
Baker made the final in the discus despite competing in the lower-seeded of the event's two qualifying flights. Her 48.14m (157-11) ultimately stood up well enough to finish ninth overall.
