In the Polls
• Michigan enters the matchup with Maryland ranked in the top 15 of both national polls following its 45-14 victory over No. 8 Notre Dame. The Wolverines are listed No. 14 in the Associated Press rankings and No. 15 in the Amway Coaches Poll after beating the Irish by the fifth largest margin in school history against a top-10 team (31 points).
• The Wolverines have been ranked in the national polls for 22 straight games dating back to the start of the 2018 season.
• Michigan has faced four ranked opponents this season -- No. 13 Wisconsin, No. 14 Iowa, No. 7 Penn State and No. 8 Notre Dame -- with No. 3 Ohio State remaining on the final Saturday of the regular season.
• The Wolverines have a 2-2 record against ranked teams in 2019.
• U-M has been ranked for all but eight contests during coach Jim Harbaugh's tenure (60 games). The Wolverines were not ranked the first four games in 2015 and four games in 2017.
Game Notes Nuggets
• Two players on the roster are originally from the state of Maryland: Jordan Anthony (Silver Spring) and Stephen Spanellis (Baltimore).
• Last weekend, Michigan announced a renewal of its series with Notre Dame in 2033-34. In the final scheduled matchup until then, the Wolverines held the Irish to 180 yards, the fourth-fewest in series history, and posted the largest margin of victory since a 38-0 shutout in 2007.
• Notre Dame's 2.4 yards per play and 47 rush yards are the second- and third-lowest figures, respectively, in series history.
• U-M forced the Irish into 10 punts, their most since 2007 under Charlie Weis and tied for their most since 2004. That figure also represents the most punts by any ranked team this year.
• Prior to last weekend's game, no team had scored 30 points against Notre Dame under defensive coordinator Clark Lea. Michigan scored 45 points.
• Michigan's defense has held four of its last five opponents under 65 yards rushing. Opponents have combined for 259 yards on 162 carries (1.59 yards per carry) in those five games. The Wolverines have allowed only one run longer than 15 yards across those 20 quarters of football.
• The Maize and Blue ranks among the top 25 nationally in 10 defensive categories, including total defense (eighth) and pass defense (sixth). As a unit, the Wolverines have allowed 70 points over the last 21 quarters including a 10-quarter stretch with no touchdowns allowed.
• Michigan racked up more than 300 yards on the ground against Notre Dame -- only the third time in series history that one team has reached that total -- and had three backs over 7.0 yards per carry in Hassan Haskins (7.4), Tru Wilson (7.5) and Christian Turner (7.8).
• The Wolverine offense has racked up more than 400 yards of offense in three straight weeks and five games overall.
• Haskins has been on a tear with two 100-plus yard rushing performances in the last three weeks. After putting up 125 yards at Illinois, Haskins had a career-high 149 rushing yards against the Irish.

• Zach Charbonnet is up to nine rushing touchdowns, tying Mike Hart (2004) and Tyrone Wheatley (1991) for the most rushing touchdowns by any U-M freshman in a single season. Charbonnet's nine scores lead the team, and only Karan Higdon (11, 2017; 10, 2018) and De'Veon Smith (10, 2016) have more in a single season under Jim Harbaugh at Michigan.
• Charbonnet crossed the 500-yard rushing barrier with his fourth carry of the game last week, a 35-yard run. With 531 yards on the season, he is 217 yards shy of Ricky Powers (1990) for second among freshman rushers in Michigan history. Mike Hart's 1,455 yards in 2004 remain the record.
• Michigan's defense has been a force as of late. No team has reached 300 yards of offense against U-M since Wisconsin in week three, and two of the last five opponents have been held under 200 yards of total offense.
• With his two-yard sack in the third quarter against Notre Dame, Kwity Paye has registered at least a share of a tackle for loss in six straight appearances, with 10.0 TFLs in those six games.
• U-M has been forcing turnovers at a high rate, with multiple turnovers in five games this year including three of the last four games.
• Michigan's offensive line continues to pave the way to offensive production. According to Pro Football Focus College, U-M boasts three starters with pressure rates below 2.5 percent in Ben Bredeson (2.0), Michael Onwenu and Cesar Ruiz (2.4). The last time the unit allowed more than two sacks in a game was against Army (Sept. 7), and U-M has averaged only four negative plays per game (tackles for loss allowed).
• After allowing 28 points off turnovers in weeks one and two, U-M has allowed opponents to score 15 points off turnovers in the last six games.
• Against Notre Dame, Shea Patterson had his fourth game this season in which he accounted for multiple touchdowns. Patterson has had 11 such games over the last two years.
• When freshman wide receiver Mike Sainristil caught his first career touchdown on Saturday, he became the 16th different Wolverine to find the end zone this season.
• Freshman Daxton Hill found a way to make an impact again last weekend, making the first two fumble recoveries of his career while also breaking up a pass. Hill is fifth among all defensive backs with 14 tackles, four of which have come on special teams.
• Hill is one of five Wolverines who recorded a pass breakup on Saturday, and he is one of 11 players with at least one this season. Lavert Hill (7) leads the way for a unit that has 33 altogether. After recording two against Notre Dame, Hill is one away from the top 10 all-time at U-M.
