• This will be the 10th meeting between U-M and Nebraska.
• The Wolverines have won 11 of their last 12 Big Ten openers and 47 of 50 conference openers since 1968.

Wolverines and Cornhuskers
This will be the 10th meeting between Michigan and Nebraska, and it marks the sixth game between the two teams in Ann Arbor. The all-time series is tied, 4-4-1, with the Wolverines posting a 3-2 mark against the Cornhuskers in Ann Arbor and a 1-2 mark at Michigan Stadium. This is the first meeting since the 2013 season, a 17-13 win by Nebraska in Ann Arbor.

Big Ten Openers
• The Wolverines will play their 113th conference opener vs. Nebraska on Saturday (Sept. 22).
• This will be the first time that Michigan has opened the Big Ten season against Nebraska.
• The Wolverines have compiled an 85-25-2 record in conference openers and have won their last three.
• Michigan has won 11 of its last 12 Big Ten openers and 34 of its last 36. The Wolverines boast an impressive 47-3 mark since 1968 in their first Big Ten game of the season.
• Michigan had a 23-game winning streak in conference openers snapped at Wisconsin (23-20) in 2005.
• The only setbacks in the past 50 Big Ten openers came on the road against the Badgers (21-14 in 1981 and 23-20 in 2005) and at home against Minnesota (30-14 in 2014).
• The team is 3-0 in Big Ten openers under J. Ira and Nicki Harris Family Head Football Coach Jim Harbaugh with wins over Maryland (2015), Penn State (2016) and Purdue (2017).

The winningest program in conference history, U-M has compiled a 503-206-18 record during its 111th season of Big Ten Conference competition. This will be the fourth game between Michigan and Nebraska as Big Ten foes, with the Cornhuskers holding a 2-1 advantage.

• The Michigan football team heads into the Big Ten opener against Nebraska ranked in both national polls following its 45-20 win over SMU.
• The Wolverines are listed No. 19 in the Associated Press rankings and moved up one spot to No. 21 in the Amway Coaches poll.
• Michigan began the season ranked 14th in both national polls.
• This is the 48th time since 1950 that U-M has been listed in the AP's top 25 in the preseason.
Wolverines to Watch
• Shea Patterson has thrown three touchdown passes in each of the past two games. He has completed 46-of-65 passes (70.8 percent) for 589 yards this season.
• Patterson completed 60.7 percent of his passes at Mississippi (238-of-392), showing a marked improvement in efficiency.
• Patterson threw three touchdowns on four passes to Donovan Peoples-Jones last weekend against SMU.
• According to Pro Football Focus College, he threw four first-down passes on five attempts to Zach Gentry.
• The single-season completion percentage record at U-M is held by Todd Collins (65.3 percent, 1992).
• Patterson has thrown for six touchdowns on 46 completions (13.04 percent).
• Donovan Peoples-Jones leads the offense with 14 receptions for 159 yards with four touchdowns.
• Peoples-Jones has shown a rapport with quarterback Shea Patterson, hauling in 14 receptions on 15 targets from the senior signal-caller.
• The pair connected on four receptions against SMU (Sept. 15), totaling 90 yards with three touchdowns. Prior to that performance, the last U-M wideout with three or more touchdowns in a game was Jehu Chesson (four) against Indiana in 2015.
• Peoples-Jones is closing in on 1,000 career all-purpose yards. He has 826 through 15 career games.

• Devin Bush leads the defense with 23 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
• A junior captain, Bush was U-M's leading tackler in 2017 with 102 stops.
• Bush has led U-M or been second in tackles in all three games so far this year.
• Pro Football Focus College gave Bush team-high grades in pass coverage (79.4) and overall (83.1).
• PFF College says Bush generated three pressures on nine pass-rushing snaps (33 percent) and allowed just six yards in completions despite being targeted three times.
• Chase Winovich has 6.5 tackles for loss through three weeks.
• Winovich led the Big Ten in TFLs in 2017 with 18.5 but only had 2.5 TFL through three games.
• He has registered 0.5 TFL or more in 11 straight games dating to last season, with 2.0 or more in four of those contests.
• The last time a team held Winovich without a TFL was against Michigan State in 2017.
• According to PFF College, Winovich registered four pressures against SMU last weekend and batted down a pass.
