
Wolverines to Host Free Exhibition Quad Meet Sunday

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Fans will get their first look at the 2019 Michigan women's gymnastics team on Sunday (Dec. 3) at 2 p.m., when it hosts a free exhibition quad meet against Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan in Crisler Center.Â
Promotions
• Free Admission -- All fans will receive free admission to the meet.
• Meet and Greet -- Season ticket holders will have an opportunity to meet and talk to the Michigan student-athletes in the Crisler Club following the conclusion of the meet as well as pick up their season tickets. To be eligible, fans must purchase season tickets by Friday, Nov. 30 at 4 p.m.
• Santa Visit -- Santa Claus will be on the Crisler Center concourse from 12:30-2:30 p.m.
• Poster Giveaway -- The 2018-19 Michigan women's gymnastics poster will be available for fans (while supplies last).
The Team, The Team, The Team
• Michigan returns eight gymnasts from the 2018 team and has six newcomers.
• Among the returners are two All-American seniors. Emma McLean was a regular-season All-American each of the last two years, while Olivia Karas is a two-time All-American as well.
• McLean and junior Lexi Funk were chosen as team captains for the 2018-19 team.
• U-M's four-member freshman class was the top-ranked class in the country and features Abby Brenner, Abby Heiskell, Maddie Mariani and Natalie Wojcik.
• The team also added two sophomores to the roster in Anne Maxim and Anna Dayton.
Quad Opponents
• This marks the fifth straight year that Michigan has hosted EMU in its exhibition meet at Crisler Center.
• The last time the Wolverines saw Central Michigan was at last year's NCAA Regional in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
• Michigan has not faced Western Michigan in a meet since 2011.
Meet Format
• Each team will be allowed six competitors on each event with up to two exhibition routines.
• Michigan will start on vault, Eastern Michigan on uneven bars, Central Michigan on balance beam and Western Michigan on floor exercise.
Regular Season
• The Wolverines will open the 2019 season on Jan. 4 at the Cancun Classic in Cancun, Mexico, against Iowa State, Rutgers and West Virginia.
• Michigan will host four regular-season home meets with the home opener taking place on Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. against Michigan State.
• U-M also has home meets on Feb. 3 against Nebraska, Feb. 10 against Iowa and March 9 against Oklahoma.
• Ann Arbor is one of four NCAA Regional sites for the new three-day regional format. Meets will be held April 4-6 at Crisler Center.
Tickets
• Season tickets are on sale now for $25.
• Individual and group tickets went on sale Tuesday (Nov. 27) with general admission tickets starting at $6 and groups of 10 or more eligible for $3 tickets.
