ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The NACGC/W released the list of recipients for the Scholastic All-America Awards on Wednesday (July 20) with four University of Michigan women's gymnasts earning the honor.
Nicole Artz (elementary education), Talia Chiarelli (sport management), Austin Sheppard (health and fitness) and Lindsay Williams (earth and environmental science) were all honored.
For Artz, a junior last season, it is another big academic honor as she was named a CoSIDA Academic All-American last month. It is the third straight year she has been a Scholastic All-American.
Rising senior Chiarelli picks up the honor for the second time. She adds to her Big Ten Distinguished Scholar award she earned two weeks ago.
Both Sheppard and Williams garnered the Scholastic All-America honor for the first time in their collegiate careers. The two seniors graduated in April.
Michigan has had at least one Scholastic All-American every year since 1991.
