THINGS TO KNOW
Michigan will have a chance to win at least a share of the Big Ten regular-season championship at the Big Five Meet.
The Wolverines have won or shared the Big Ten regular-season title in two of the three years that the Big Ten has recognized a regular-season champion.
U-M sits in third place in the current standings with a 4-1 record. The Wolverines will face No. 19 Minnesota and No. 18 Iowa this weekend; both are tied atop the standings with a 5-0 mark.
Michigan defeated Iowa at the Cancun Classic to start the year, but it was not a conference matchup.
The Big Five Meet will determine placement at the Big Ten Championships March 19 at Nebraska. The top three will compete in the evening session, while the bottom two will compete in the afternoon session.
U-M won the Big Five Meet last year at Minnesota with a score of 197.000.
Michigan's team scoring average of 196.903 is currently the third best in school history behind 2015 (197.123) and 2013 (196.998). The individual-event averages rank among the all-time best at U-M as well: vault (5th), bars (2nd), beam (4th) and floor (t-1st).
The Wolverines have the second-best RQS on floor with Nicole Artz ranking third in the nation on the event and Olivia Karas tied for sixth.
Karas ranks third in the country on vault with a RQS of 9.925. She is tied for eighth in the all-around, with Artz just behind her in 12th.
