
Thome Named Big Ten Freshman of the Week

ROSEMONT, Ill. -- After averaging 14.0 points per game in three wins, University of Michigan women's basketball freshman center Hallie Thome was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Monday (Nov. 30) by the conference office. It is the first weekly honor of her career.
Thome averaged 14.0 points on 73.1-percent shooting in three Michigan victories last week. Against USC Upstate (Nov. 23), Thome scored 10 points on 4-for-6 shooting to go with four rebounds in just 11 minutes of action. In U-M's 83-47 win over Hartford, she poured in 18 points on 8-for-9 shooting and grabbed three rebounds in 19 minutes. The lefty completed her week by scoring 14 points and recording a career-high eight rebounds in U-M's 61-44 victory over Oral Roberts on Sunday (Nov. 29).
On the season, she leads the country in field goal percentage at 76.6 percent while scoring 13.2 points per game and grabbing 4.7 boards per contest.
