Hello everyone!
Not only was this past week exciting for Michigan women's soccer but for all of Michigan athletics! As a whole, our varsity athletic programs went 8-0-2 on the weekend. That is an undefeated weekend, ladies and gentlemen! Our two games were definitely both 'fighters games,' where we battled for the outcome, and passed many different obstacles and variables. Now, we officially start Big Ten season as we head to Indiana on Sunday (Sept. 18). Don't forget to watch us on the Big Ten Network!
Our team took part in some of the "Fight for the Night: Go Blue, Beat the Irish" pep rally activities last Friday (Sept. 9). We went to the car bash and just happened to be there at the same time as the ESPN College GameDay cameras. Did you see us on TV?? Some of us watched the football game in the stadium and some from the comfort of our own homes. I have to admit I may have teared up a bit in the stadium when Desmond became the first ever Michigan Football Legend. After staying for a bit, I returned to my apartment and screamed and celebrated with my roommate, Haley Kopmeyer. Not quite as exciting as being in the Big House, but we screamed just as loud.
On a sadder note, it makes me tear up a bit to inform everyone that Carl Edwards, not the racecar driver, but Tori McCombs' fish, passed away on Monday. He was only a week old but some great memories were shared in the presence of our team.
And finally, as the fall season is upon us, Tori, [Meghan] Toohey, Haley and I are heading to the apple orchard! While most are excited for apples and cider, my mouth is watering fervently for some doughnuts.
So I leave you to go enjoy my cinnamon doughnuts! Thanks for reading and GO BLUE!
