Series Notes
All-time, Michigan improves to 65-30-11 vs. Ohio State. In Columbus, U-M is 28-15-5. The teams have split six out of seven series since the start of 2004-05.
Team Notes
Michigan upped its season-best penalty-kill streak to 23 chances after stopping one Buckeye power play in each period tonight. Michigan has not allowed a power-play goal in the last five games. U-M has 11 perfect games on the PK this season.
U-M recorded a power-play goal for a season-best sixth straight game. The two tallies tonight tied a season high. Over the last half dozen games the Wolverines are 8-for-31 (.258).
Michigan won for the first time this season when scoring fewer than three goals (1-7-0).
Player Notes
Carl Hagelin tallied an assist to maintain a share of the team lead in points (8-7-15). Additionally, he extended his point streak to five games (4-3-7), which is a new career best.
Chris Brown has a 2-5-7 line in the last five games. He had a goal and an assist last night and two assists this evening. Brown's 15 points (7-8-15) are tied for first on the team with Carl Hagelin.
Matt Rust stretched his point streak to four games with a power-play goal tonight. He has two goals and three assists during the run.
Chris Summers' first-period goal was his first tally since Jan. 24, 2009, vs. Michigan State. It was his second career power-play goal.
Steve Kampfer has four assists in the last four games. His helper tonight was his seventh of the season, which is tops among all U-M defensemen.
