Michigan is 9-4-1 in the third-place game, including a 6-0-0 record against Michigan Tech.
U-M improves to 21-10-0 all-time vs. MTU in the tournament.
Team Notes
Michigan set a season high with three power-play goals tonight. U-M last had a trio of PPGs on Feb. 13, 2009, when it converted on four man-advantages vs. Nebraska-Omaha. The Wolverines have notched a PPG in nine of the last 10 games.
When scoring first, Michigan is 9-2-0.
When leading after 20 minutes, the Wolverines are 8-0-0.
Individual Notes
Lindsay Sparks scored his first and second career goals today. His power-play tally opened the scoring in the first period. His other goal was U-M's fourth score and the eventual gamewinner.
Carl Hagelin notched two assists today for his sixth multi-point outing this season. He had a goal and an assist last night to give him 1-3-4 totals for the tournament. Hagelin leads U-M in goals (10) and points (20). His 10 assists are tied for tops on the team.
Matt Rust potted a goal and an assist for his third multi-point game of the season. Rust is second on the team in points (7-10-17) and tied for first in assists with Hagelin.
Brian Lebler set career highs for goals (2) and points (3) in a game. He earned his second multi-point game of the season, both of which have come in the last four games.
Kevin Lynch notched his first career goal vs. RPI last night and with an assist today has points in consecutive games for the first time.
