The teams played scoreless softball through eight innings, neither one able to string together hits for runs. Marie Barda (Darien, Ill./Hinsdale South HS) relieved Eiland in the fifth and took the loss (1-2). She tossed four strikeouts while allowing three hits and two runs, both unearned. Jamie Peterka went the distance in the USF victory.
Michigan recorded its third straight double-digit hits game, scattering 10 singles to bring its three-game Gladstone's Tournament total to 36 hits. Tune had her best hitting game of the season, going 3-for-5 with an RBI. Kelsey Kollen (Cerritos, Calif./Santa Ana Mater Dei HS) was 2-for-5.
