Three Wolverines Selected for All-Big Ten Honors

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Three members of the 2000 University of Michigan women's soccer team were honored at the Big Ten Conference Banquet on Thursday (Nov. 2).
Senior midfielder Kacy Beitel (Midland, Mich./H.H. Dow HS) and sophomore midfielder Amy Sullivant (Utica, Mich./Eisenhower HS) gained All-Big Ten first team honors. Sophomore forward Abby Crumpton (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester Adams HS) was named to the All-Big Ten second team.
Beitel made her second consecutive appearance on the All-Big Ten first team. Sullivant received her first All-Big Ten citation, while Crumpton was named to the second team this year after earning first-team honors in 1999.
Penn State's Christie Welsh earned the Big Ten Player of the Year award, while sophomore teammate Joanna Lohman was honored as the Big Ten Freshman of the Year. Michigan State head coach Tom Saxton was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year.
