Michigan Women Break into National Poll at No. 15

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- With a Big Ten Championship runner-up finish, the University of Michigan women's cross country team made its way into the NCAA Division I cross country poll at No. 15. This week's poll is the first time since the preseason that the women's team has been ranked.
After a difficult regular season plagued with injury and illness, the Wolverines managed to score 95 points to upset then-No. 17 Minnesota and No. 18 Michigan State by three and 11 points, respectively, at the conference championship Oct. 30 in State College, Pa.
The Wolverines will continue their postseason at the Great Lakes Regional Championship in Terre Haute, Ind., on Nov. 13. The men's race with start the day's events at 11 a.m. and the women will close the regional at noon.
