
U-M Gears Up for NCAA Great Lakes Regional

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's cross country team will travel to Evansville, Ind., to continue postseason competition at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on Friday (Nov. 14). The 6K race will be held at the Angel Mounds course and broadcast live on ESPNU at 10 a.m. CT.
Notes
• Michigan opened its postseason at the Big Ten Championships on Friday (Oct. 31), finishing ninth with 278 points. Anjali Hocker Singh led the way for the Wolverines, placing 43rd (21:01.6).
• Katelyn Watkins (21:09.5) and Gabbie Michael (21:12.3) placed 55th and 56th, respectively, both setting personal bests.
• Michigan finished sixth at the 2024 NCAA Great Lakes Regional with 202 points.
• Penelopea Gordon placed 10th with a personal-best time of 19:49.9 to earn All-Region honors. Mary Caroline Heinen (20:22.4) and Samantha Hastie (20:40.8) followed for the Wolverines in 29th and 49th, respectively.
• Gordon advanced to the NCAA Championships as an individual qualifier, finishing 169th with a time of 20:55.8.
• The top two teams in each regional championship automatically advance to the NCAA Championships in Columbia, Mo., next Saturday (Nov. 22). Fourteen additional at-large bids will be announced during the NCAA Selection Show on Saturday (Nov. 15) at 5 p.m. ET on NCAA.com.
