Zac Stevens is in his first season on the University of Michigan wrestling program's coaching staff. An NCAA All-American, Stevens will serve as the Wolverines' undergraduate assistant coach while he finishes his bachelor's degree in computational informatics.
Stevens was a mainstay in the U-M starting lineup for four seasons (2009-12), appearing in every tournament and starting every dual meet -- a stretch of 66 consecutive duals -- at 133 pounds since his arrival on campus.
He improved his record in each of his collegiate seasons, posting an 88-62 career record at Michigan, including a 27-11 mark as a senior en route to his first NCAA All-America citation. He recorded his best career finish at the 2012 Big Ten Championships, taking fourth, before avenging two season losses in a seventh-place performance at the NCAA event.
Named a team captain as a true sophomore, Stevens holds the distinction of being the youngest captain in Wolverine program history. He was a three-time NCAA qualifier and placed at the Big Ten Tournament in each of his collegiate seasons. Off the mat, Stevens was a Academic All-Big Ten selection and twice earned U-M Athletic Academic Achievement honors.
