AUSTIN, Texas -- The University of Michigan wrestling team's Cameron Catrabone, Beau Mantanona and Brock Mantanona have been selected to participate in the National Wrestling Coaches Association's 58th All-Star Classic. The event is slated for Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Penn State's Rec Hall and will be streamed live on FloWrestling.
The NWCA All-Star Classic will feature 10 highly ranked Division I folkstyle matchups, along with four cross-divisional women's freestyle matches and one Division II vs. Division III men's match.
Catrabone, ranked No. 5 at 165 pounds by FloWrestling, is scheduled to face Oklahoma's No. 7 Paddy Gallagher. Catrabone posted a 23-10 record in his first varsity season last year at 157 pounds and earned All-America honors with a seventh-place finish in his NCAA debut. His father, Jeff Catrabone, was a two-time all-star participant for Michigan at 167 pounds (1997, '98). Gallagher was an All-American for Ohio State last season, taking eighth place at 165 pounds.
Beau Mantanona, the nation's No. 4-ranked 174-pounder, will face Navy's No. 6 Danny Wask. Mantanona also claimed seventh place at NCAAs last season for his first career All-America honor and compiled a 25-9 record with 13 bonus wins. He and Catrabone shared the team lead with six falls apiece. Wask is a two-time NCAA All-American at 174 pounds, placing eighth in 2025 and sixth in 2026.
Brock Mantanona, ranked No. 5 at 184 pounds, will take on Penn State's No. 2 Rocco Welsh in the fourth collegiate meeting between the Big Ten rivals. Welsh, who took second place last year at 184 pounds, went 3-0 in those matches, but Mantanona closed the gap each time, culminating in a narrow 4-3 NCAA semifinal. Mantanona earned All-America honors with a fourth-place NCAA finish and posted a 23-8 record in his first varsity season last year.
The trio brings Michigan's all-time NWCA All-Star selections to 46 and represents the Wolverines' most single-year participants since the inaugural 1967 event.
The Wolverines will kick off the 2026-27 season on the road against VMI this Sunday (Nov. 1) in Lexington, Va. The dual is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start at the Keydets' Cormack Hall.
