
Ten Wolverines Awarded CRCA Scholar-Athlete Recognition

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Following the 2026 season that saw a top-12 national finish at the NCAA Championships, the University of Michigan rowing program had 10 student-athletes honored as Scholar-Athletes by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association, the organization announced Friday (June 5).
The 10 Wolverines honored include Jenna Chaffin (ecology, evolution and biodiversity), Talia Daft (political science), Megan Higley (movement science), Madeleine Lauriault (political science and economics), Kiley Locke (biology, health and society), Halle Loveday (computer science), Olive Pascoe (international studies), Isabela Pimentel (business administration and international studies), Logan Roeder (social work) and Marloes van der Zwart (space engineering).
To earn CRCA Scholar-Athlete distinction, a student must be in her second, third or fourth year of eligibility, have at least a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average and compete in an NCAA/IRA championship boat (1V8, 2V8, 1V4) for either the conference championship weekend or a minimum of 75 percent of the spring season.
This year's distinctions mark the third time Lauriault and Roeder have been honored. Pimentel has now received the honor twice.
