
Michigan to Head to Nebraska for B1G Outdoor Championships

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team will open postseason competition at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships hosted by Nebraska, Friday through Sunday (May 15-17), at the Nebraska Outdoor Track.
Notes
• Michigan leads the Great Lakes Region and comes in at No. 8 in the Big Ten in the latest USTFCCCA rankings.
• The shot put squad (Elizabeth Tapper, Trinity Franklin, Abigail Russell and Janey Campbell) is No. 2 in the NCAA, while the steeplechase squad (Hannah Pricco, Coraline Haggarty, Keaton Robar and Caroline Beiting) comes in at No. 9, and the 400-meter hurdles squad (Sidney Green, Sydney Kuhn, Sydney Glee and Lauren Bickerdt) enters the rankings at No. 6.
• Michigan finished ninth at the 2025 Big Ten Outdoor Championships with 46 points.
• Savannah Sutherland claimed her third straight Big Ten 400-meter hurdles title (55.37 seconds) and Green took home silver (57.47).
• Tapper finished second in the shot put, setting the program record with a mark of 17.65 meters (57 feet, 11 inches), and Emma Yungeberg finished fourth in the javelin throw (53.08m/174-1).
• The 4x400-meter relay team of Payton Smith, Sutherland, Green and Trinity Henderson earned bronze (3:32.47).
• Clare McNamara had a breakout performance in the heptathlon with six personal-best marks, including coming in at No. 3 on the program performers list in the heptathlon (5,698 points).
