
Wolverines to Head to Philly for Penn Relays

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team will travel to Philadelphia, Pa., for the Penn Relays on Thursday-Saturday (April 23-25) at Franklin Field. Action on Thursday is set for 5:30 p.m. with the 400-meter hurdles, while Friday will open with the 4x100-meter relay at 1:25 p.m. and Saturday will begin with the 4x800-meter relay at 2:05 p.m.

• Michigan is second in the Great Lakes Region and No. 11 in the Big Ten in the latest USTFCCCA rankings.
• The shot put event squad (Elizabeth Tapper, Trinity Franklin, Abigail Russell, Janey Campbell) sits at No. 2 in the NCAA, while the 800-meter run event squad (Emmry Ross, Samantha Hastie, Coraline Haggarty, Penelopea Gordon) dropped out of the top 10 to No. 11.
• The Maize and Blue is coming off a weekend between the Big Red Classic in Lincoln, Neb., and the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C.
• Ross ran a personal-best time of 2:02.84 in the 800-meter run, the No. 4 time on the program performers list. Ross also ran in the 400-meter dash, finishing with a time of 54.32 to come 0.38 seconds shy of the No. 10 mark on the program performers list.
• Hannah Pricco made her 3,000-meter steeplechase debut, finishing with a time of 10:13.53 for the No. 8 time on the program performers list.
• A pair of Wolverines finished in the top five of the shot put at Nebraska, with Tapper placing fourth (16.52m, 54-2.5) and Russell placing fifth (16.39m, 53-9.25).
• Michigan will close out its regular-season road slate at the Duke Twilight on May 3.
