WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team opened the Wake Forest Invitational on Thursday (April 16) at Ketner Stadium, setting a pair of top-10 program times on day one.
In her 3,000-meter steeplechase debut, Hannah Pricco finished ninth in her section with a time of 10:13.53. The time is No. 8 on the program performers list.
Emmry Ross ran a personal-best 2:02.84 in the 800-meter run invite section, finishing fifth in her heat and setting the No. 4 time on the program performers list. Also running in the 800-meter invite section was Samantha Hastie, who finished sixth in her heat (2:06.73).
In the 800-meter run open section, Coraline Haggarty ran a personal-best time of 2:06.27 while Penelopea Gordon ran a season-best 2:06.47 and Alyna Lewis ran 2:10.74.
Jadyn Zdanavage led a trio of Wolverines that finished in the top 15 of the 5,000-meter run with a personal-best time of 16:55.39 to place second and shave 19 seconds off her previous best. Katelyn Watkins finished 10th (17:15.25) and Lisa Luecke finished 15th (17:18.12).
Michigan will split between a pair of meets on Friday (April 17), closing out the Wake Forest Invitational and opening the Big Red Classic in Lincoln, Neb. Action in Winston-Salem, N.C., will begin at 1:10 p.m. with the 1,500-meter run, while action in Nebraska will begin at 2 p.m. CT with the hammer throw.
