
Maize and Blue Preps for Big Ten Invitational in California

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 17-ranked University of Michigan rowing team will travel to Sacramento, Calif., this weekend for the sixth annual Big Ten Invitational. Hosted by the Sacramento State Aquatic Center on Lake Natoma, the regatta will include 19 schools and three racing sessions over two days this Saturday and Sunday (April 18-19).
Notes
• U-M improved to No. 17 in the CRCA Poll following its races against No. 2 Texas on Saturday (April 11). The Wolverines are one of seven ranked teams competing at the Big Ten Invitational this weekend.
• The field is comprised of 11 Big Ten programs and eight invitees. Other nationally ranked opponents include No. 1 Stanford, No. 5 Washington, No. 9 California, No. 12 Rutgers, No. 16 Ohio State, and No. 23 Indiana.
• This year marks the sixth Big Ten Invitational and its first occurrence on Lake Natoma, home of the Sacramento State rowing program. The Hornets will compete in the field this weekend.
• All three racing sessions will be streamed live on Big Ten Plus and will also be available on demand after the regatta concludes. Live results will be posted on HereNow.com.
• Those competing this weekend are sending full teams to Sacramento, with the following boats expected to race three times each over the course of the weekend: 1V8, 2V8, 1V4, 2V4, 3V4, 3V8, 4V8.
• The Wolverines will compete against 12 of 18 schools during the regatta, including multiple sessions against top-ranked Stanford, Washington, California and Rutgers.
