CALGARY, Alberta -- University of Michigan ice hockey freshman Adam Valentini has been named to Hockey Canada's National Men's Under-18 Team pre-tournament camp roster, the organization announced Monday (April 13).
The 2026 IIHF U18 Men's World Championship will take place in Bratislava and Trencín, Slovakia.
In his debut season, the Toronto, Ontario, native appeared in all 40 games and paced Michigan's freshman class with 27 points, recording 11 goals and 16 assists. He delivered a key goal in a 4-3 NCAA Tournament win over Minnesota Duluth that propelled the Wolverines to the Frozen Four, and later added an assist in a double-overtime semifinal contest against Denver.
Valentini is the third Wolverine to compete for Canada at the U18, following Adam Fantilli in 2022 and Wolverine teammate Jack Ivankovic, who won gold in both 2024 and 2025.
At last year's U18 World Championship, Ivankovic earned Media All-Star Team honors alongside Team USA's Drew Schock. Schock, along with Michigan teammates Asher Barnett, Cole McKinney and Will Horcoff, helped Team USA secure a bronze medal.
Canada will play a pair of pre-tournament games, facing Sweden on April 17 in Bratislava and Czechia on April 19 in Trencín.
The tournament begins April 22, with Canada set to compete against Slovakia, Latvia, Norway, and Finland in preliminary-round play. The event concludes with the medal games on May 2.
