
Wolverines Prep for Trip to Columbus for Robert Kepler Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- With just two regular-season events remaining -- both in Big Ten territory -- the University of Michigan men's golf team will travel to Columbus, Ohio, for the Robert Kepler Invitational, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday (April 11–12). The 54-hole tournament will feature a 16-team field competing at Columbus Country Club, a par-72 course measuring 7,077 yards.

• Michigan returns to the Robert Kepler Invitational for the first time in four years. In its last appearance (2022), the Wolverines placed ninth, with Hunter Thomson and Bavake Sihota each tying for 34th [ Recap ]
• The Robert Kepler Invitational features a 16-team field: Abilene Christian, Butler, Cal Poly, Indiana, UMKC, Kent State, LMU, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northern Illinois, Ohio State, South Dakota State, Southern Illinois and St. Thomas.
• Michigan will send five starters to the Robert Kepler Invitational: sophomores RJ Arone, Dean Muratore, Nilay Naik and Johnny Solis, along with freshman Jordan Hwang.
• Through eight events, the Wolverines have tallied 53 sub-par rounds and hold a 72.42 team scoring average. Michigan is averaging 283.48 per round, with 14 of its 23 team scores finishing under par.
• The Wolverines have also recorded 19 sub-par tournament finishes, averaging 216.84 over 54 holes. Dean Muratore highlighted the season with a program-record 196 (-14) at the Jim DeLapa Collegiate -- just the second sub-200 performance in school history.
• Arone has 15 of his 23 rounds at or below par and leads the Wolverines with a 70.48 stroke average, just ahead of Muratore (70.57). He has posted six sub-par and one even-par 54-hole totals in eight events this season, along with six top-20 finishes. Carrying a 211.57 average, Arone recorded a career-low 205 (-11) at the Island Resort Intercollegiate.
• Close behind, Muratore owns a 70.57 average with 14 rounds at or below par. He fired a career-best 64 (-6) en route to his first collegiate title at the Jim DeLapa Collegiate and holds a 210.00 tournament scoring average.
• Naik has been a steady presence in the lineup, averaging 72.13 per round with six sub-par and five even-par rounds. One of three Wolverines to compete in all eight events, he has three under-par tournament finishes, including a career-low 208 (-8) in his debut at the Island Resort Intercollegiate.
• In his first season, Hwang has started seven of eight events. He is averaging 72.89 per round and has posted seven sub-par rounds, including a career-low 67 (-5) in the second round of the Island Resort Intercollegiate, his first collegiate event. Overall, Hwang has three under-par 54-hole totals this season, with a career-best 212 (-1) at the Moraine Intercollegiate.
