» Led by RJ Arone's two-under-par 70s, Michigan opened the Abilene Christian Intercollegiate with a 296-team total to stand sixth after the opening round. Arone carded four birdies, including two on the back nine, to finish the day tied for fourth individually.
» Jordan Hwang followed with a two-over 74 to tie for 22nd, recording two birdies and 12 pars while playing the front nine at even-par 36. Nilay Naik added a three-over 75 to tie for 27th.
» Michigan's five starters combined for 12 birdies and an eagle in the opening round. Arone led the Wolverines with his four birdies and posted the team's lone under-par round.
