
Wolverines to Head to Baton Rouge for NCAA Regionals

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 10-ranked University of Michigan women's gymnastics team will make its 35th NCAA Regional appearance as it travels to Baton Rouge, La., for competition at LSU's Pete Maravich Assembly Center from Wednesday through Saturday, April 1-5. Michigan will compete in Thursday's afternoon session at 1 p.m. CT, streaming live on ESPN+.
Joining the Wolverines in Baton Rouge will be No. 2 LSU, No. 7 Stanford, No. 15 Clemson, North Carolina, Utah State, Auburn, Air Force and Nebraska.
In the NCAA regional format, each of the four regional sites will feature four sessions over three days. The first round will take place Wednesday, April 1, at 2 p.m. CT with Air Force competing against Nebraska for a spot in Thursday's evening session. Two second-round sessions will take place on Thursday, April 2, at 1 p.m. CT, featuring the Wolverines, No. 7 Stanford, No. 22 North Carolina and Utah State. The evening session will start at 7 p.m. CT and feature No. 2 LSU, No. 15 Clemson, No. 17 Auburn and the winner of the Air Force and Nebraska meet.
The top two teams from each session on Thursday will advance to the regional final, which will take place on Saturday, April 4, at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
In addition to team qualifiers, individual competitors can advance to nationals. The top all-around gymnast not on a qualifying team, along with the top finisher on each event who is not part of a qualifying team or all-around qualifier, will move on to compete for national titles.
The NCAA Championships are set for April 16 and 18 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Michigan's appearance marks its 34th consecutive trip to NCAA Regionals. Over that span, the Wolverines have advanced to the NCAA Championships 25 times.
Entering postseason competition, Michigan holds a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 197.111 and ranks among the nation's top 15 on all four events -- including No. 5 on beam, No. 9 on floor, No. 13 on vault and No. 15 on uneven bars.
