
Michigan Preps for Strong Finish at NCAA Championships

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 10-ranked University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team (8-4) will close out its 2025-26 season this week at the NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships in Atlanta, Ga. The four-day meet begins Wednesday (March 25) at McAuley Aquatic Center, with prelims at 10 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m. each day. All sessions will stream on ESPN+.

• Michigan enters nationals after a second straight runner-up finish at the Big Ten Championships, totaling 1,208 points to finish behind Indiana University.
• Senior Tyler Ray starred at Big Tens, winning the 100- and 200-yard butterfly events while setting a new conference record in the 50-yard butterfly. He was named Big Ten Swimmer of the Championships, becoming the second Wolverine in three years to earn the honor.
• Freshman Luka Mladenovic impressed in his conference debut, sweeping the breaststroke events and contributing to Michigan's winning medley relay teams. He heads to nationals with top-five times in both breaststroke races.
• Sophomore Lorne Wigginton showcased his range with top-five finishes in the 500 and 1,650 freestyle events and the 400 IM. He set a new school record in the 400 IM and enters the NCAA meet ranked third nationally.
• Colin Geer holds the No. 2 time in the nation in the 200 IM (1:40.15), set at Big Tens, earning All-Big Ten second team recognition.
• Additional individual qualifiers include Eitan Ben-Shitrit, Ole Eidam and Jack Wilkening. Ben-Shitrit and Wilkening will conclude their collegiate careers at the national meet, while Eidam will make his championships debut.
• Freshman Antoine Sauve has been a key contributor to Michigan's relay success, anchoring the 400 medley relay that captured Big Ten gold. He will serve as an alternate for relay events at NCAAs.
• Michigan leads all programs with 166 all-time individual NCAA champions and is seeking its first individual national title since Felix Auböck in 2019.
