Wolverines to Welcome NC State in NCAA Second Round

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 9-ranked University of Michigan women's basketball team (26-6) advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the 10th time in program history and will host NC State (21-10) on Sunday (March 22) at Crisler Center. The game is set for 1 p.m. and can be seen on ABC.
Notes
• No. 9 Michigan recorded an 83-48 win over Holy Cross in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament to advance to the second round for the 10th time in program history.
• Michigan will face NC State for just the fourth time in program history, with two of the previous three matchups coming during the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. The other time the teams met was during the second round of the 1990 NCAA Tournament, the first time U-M made the big dance.
• Michigan is looking for its third Sweet 16 appearance in program history. U-M made back-to-back Sweet 16 appearances in 2021 and 2022.
• Mila Holloway went for 20 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in the first-round win over Holy Cross (March 20), recording her third 20-point game of the season and sixth of her career. She hit a career-high five three-pointers in the contest.
• For the second straight game, Ashley Sofilkanich will see a high school teammate in NC State's Zoe Brooks. The two played together at St. John Vianney.
• Michigan is now 15-1 at Crisler Center, with its lone loss coming by three points to No. 2 UCLA on Feb. 8. Michigan is averaging 87.3 points per game on 49.6 percent shooting at home, yielding just 58.6 points per game on 38.8 percent shooting. Michigan is forcing 23.1 turnovers per game at home. Michigan's 15 wins are the fourth-most in school history.
• U-M had five players score in double figures in its win over Holy Cross (March 20), moving to 9-0 this season when at least five players reach the 10-point mark. Holloway led the charge with 20, followed by 13 from Syla Swords, 12 each from Olivia Olson and Brooke Quarles Daniels, and Te'Yala Delfosse chipping in 10 off the bench.
• Michigan is the second-highest scoring team in the conference, also ranking ninth nationally at 83.6 points per game. U-M is 24-0 when scoring at least 80 points after going for 83 points against Holy Cross (March 20).
• U-M welcomed 8,491 fans to Crisler Center in the first round, marking the second-highest attendance this season and the ninth-best mark in program history.
