
Michigan to Trek to Wisconsin for Big Ten Championships

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 12-ranked University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team (6-2, 3-2 Big Ten) will travel to Madison, Wis., for the Big Ten Championships. The meet will take place over four days from Wednesday (Feb. 25) to Saturday (Feb. 28) at the Soderholm Family Aquatic Center. The preliminary races will begin at 10 a.m. CT and the finals will follow at 5 p.m. CT. All races will be streamed live on B1G+.
Notes
• The Wolverines carry momentum into the postseason after closing the regular season with a Senior Day win over Denison on Jan. 31. Michigan finished second at last year's conference championships in Minneapolis.
• The Maize and Blue lead the Big Ten with 42 team conference titles and will seek their first league crown since 2021.
• Luka Mladenovic has enjoyed a standout freshman season, earning four Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors. Mladenovic holds top-three conference times in both the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke (50.92, 1:51.99) and ranks fourth in the Big Ten in the 200-yard individual medley (1:43.37).
• Tyler Ray looks to add to his decorated career in Ann Arbor. The 2025 All-American owns the top time in the Big Ten in the 200-yard butterfly (1:39.60) and ranks among the conference's top three in both the 100-yard butterfly (44.78) and 50-yard freestyle (19.02). Ray will defend his 2025 conference title in the 100-yard butterfly this week in Madison.
• Lorne Wigginton anchors the Wolverines in the distance events, holding top-five conference times in the 1,000-yard freestyle (8:54.01) and 400-yard individual medley (3:40.18), while also ranking seventh in the 500-yard freestyle (4:14.50).
• Antoine Sauve has also made an impact in his freshman campaign, ranking second in the Big Ten in the 200-yard freestyle (1:32.26) and third in the 100-yard freestyle (42.16).
• Colin Geer will look to defend his 2025 conference title in the 200-yard butterfly and enters the meet with a time of 1:43.08. He also ranks third in the 100-yard individual medley (49.15).
• U-M holds top-three conference times in every relay it has competed in this season, ranking second in both the 400-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle relays, while sitting third in the 200-yard relays.
