
Michigan to Conclude Regular Season Hosting Silverston Invitational, at Notre Dame

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team will wrap up the indoor regular season by hosting the Silverston Invitational on Friday (Feb. 20) at the U-M Indoor Track Building, while sending a distance medley relay squad to the Alex Wilson Invitational hosted by Notre Dame on Saturday (Feb. 21) at the Loftus Sports Center in South Bend, Ind. The Silverston Invitational will begin at 3 p.m. and the DMR at the Alex Wilson Invitational is set for 12:15 p.m.

• Michigan remains No. 1 in the Great Lakes Region in the latest USTFCCCA rankings.
• The shot put squad (Elizabeth Tapper, Abigail Russell, Trinity Franklin and Janey Campbell) remains at No. 2 in the NCAA in the event squad rankings with an average distance of 16.04 meters (52 feet, 7.5 inches). The 800-meter run event squad (Emmry Ross, Stephanie Bertram, Coraline Haggarty and Alyna Lewis) sits at No. 7 with an average time of 2:05.66.
• U-M returns home after a split weekend competing in Boston, Mass., at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational and Indianapolis, Ind., at the Heartland Invitational.
• At the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, Ross clocked a 2:02.31 in the 800-meter run to set the program record, while Haggarty (2:06.79) and Lewis (2:08.46) set personal-best times.
• Penelopea Gordon set a personal-best time of 4:38.05 in the mile run, good for the No. 10 mark on the program performers list. Hannah Pricco and Caroline Beiting also ran personal bests of 4:44.98 and 4:48.83, respectively.
• Rylee Tolson saw a personal best (9:24.80) in the 3,000-meter run, with Anjali Hocker Singh (16:26.76) and Gabbie Michael (16:33.27) running personal bests in the 5,000-meter run. Hocker Singh shaved 20 seconds off her personal best while Michael shaved nearly 30 seconds off hers.
• At the Heartland Invitational, Amare Harlan leaped to a personal best of 6.34m (20-9.75) in the long jump and ran a personal-best time of 7.38 seconds in the 60-meter dash. Both marks rank No. 4 on the program performers list. In her long jump debut, Kourtney Rathke posted 6.02m (19-9) for the No. 10 mark on the program performers list.
• Keyanna O'Tey ran 23.75 seconds in the 200-meter dash for the No. 5 spot on the program performers list. Iliana Downing grabbed the No. 7 spot on the pole vault performers list with her personal-best clearance of 3.95m (12-11.5).
• In the shot put, Russell threw a personal best of 17.00m (55-9.25) for the No. 2 mark on the program performers list. She is just the second Wolverine to achieve a mark of 17.00m.
• The Wolverines will open the postseason from Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 26-28, at the Big Ten Indoor Championships.
