ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 9-ranked University of Michigan women's basketball team (17-3, 8-1 Big Ten) will hit the road for the first of two road games this week, heading to Indiana to face the Hoosiers (11-10, 0-9 Big Ten) on Thursday evening (Jan. 29) at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. The game is set for 7 p.m. and can be seen on Peacock.
Notes
• Michigan has won two straight over the Hoosiers, coming in the 2024 Big Ten Tournament and in a 70-67 win in Ann Arbor last season. Indiana leads the all-time series, 50-32. U-M is looking for its first win in Bloomington since 2014.
• The game marks a return to Indiana for Alyssa Crockett, who grew up in Westfield. U-M will return to the Hoosier State for the 2026 Big Ten Tournament at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, March 4-8.
• Michigan has hit the midway point of Big Ten play, compiling an 8-1 record over the first nine games. U-M has won six straight conference games after falling at Washington on Jan. 1. U-M sits in third behind undefeated UCLA and Iowa at 9-0.
• Kendall Dudley will face her former high school and collegiate teammate in Zania Socka-Nguemen. The two went to high school together at Sidwell Friends and played their freshman seasons at UCLA. Both players were McDonald's All-Americans out of high school.
• Olivia Olson has scored in double figures in all 20 of Michigan's games this season, averaging 18.1 points per game on 46.1 percent shooting. She has recorded eight 20-point games and a pair of double-doubles this season. Olson ranks eighth in the Big Ten in scoring as one of eight players to average at least 18.0 points per game. Olson has scored in double figures in 26 straight games, dating back to last season. She was named to the Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 Watch List and ranked No. 15 in ESPN's Midseason Player Rankings.
• Michigan has topped the 100-point mark five times this season after recording 105 points against Penn State (Jan. 8). It was the second-most points Michigan has ever scored in a conference game and the second time U-M has reached 100 in a conference game this season. This is the first time in program history that U-M has had five 100-point games in a season after recording three during the 1996-97 and 2016-17 seasons. Michigan is averaging 87.2 points per game, good for first in the Big Ten and sixth nationally.
• Michigan moved to No. 9 in the latest Associated Press poll. It is the 10th straight week that Michigan has been in the top 10, the longest streak in the top 10 in program history. Michigan was in the top 10 for six straight weeks during the 2021-22 season. That streak started with the Jan. 17, 2022 poll and ran through the Feb. 21, 2022 poll.
• U-M is currently No. 6 in the NET and No. 8 in WAB (wins above bubble), the two metrics used to determine NCAA Tournament seeding.
• The Wolverines wrap up their two-game road week on Sunday (Feb. 1), heading to East Lansing to face No. 13-ranked Michigan State at noon.
