Notes
• Michigan opens a two-game Pacific Northwest swing, traveling to Washington (Jan. 14) and Oregon (Jan. 17). Last season, in its first westward trip to the league's newest Big Ten members, U-M earned wins at USC (85-74) and at UCLA (94-75).
• U-M holds a 4-3 record against Washington, including a 2-2 mark in Seattle.
• Last season, after building a 10-point halftime lead, Michigan maintained a double-digit cushion throughout the second half and cruised to a 91-75 victory over Washington at Crisler Center. Nimari Burnett was a perfect 6-for-6 from the field -- with four three-pointers -- on his way to 16 points.
• U-M has not played at Washington in 32 years. The last visit came in a 65-61 loss during the U.S. West Cellular Airtime Tournament on Dec. 30, 1994, at Edmundson Pavilion.
• Michigan is authoring one of the most dominant seasons in modern college basketball, with 10 wins by 20+ points, including eight by 30+, six by 40+, and one by 50+, along with three victories over nationally ranked opponents. U-M has seven 100+ point games and six victories by 40+ points, which are the most in Big Ten history, passing Indiana's mark of five (1991-92).
• Michigan ranks second nationally at 94.6 points per game, leads the nation with a +26.1 scoring margin, is seventh nationally in rebounding (43.3 rpg), leads the country in defensive rebounds (32.2), and ranks seventh nationally with 20.1 assists per game (second in the Big Ten to Purdue).
• Michigan's balance has given it six Wolverines averaging double-figures.
• Burnett is three points shy of 1,000 career points across stops at Texas Tech, Alabama, and Michigan, while averaging 8.6 points per game this season. He has not missed a game or a start in a Michigan uniform, appearing in 84 straight contests.
• Morez Johnson Jr. shooting 68.9 percent (82-for-119), which is tops in the Big Ten and ranks second nationally -- trailing Navy's Aidan Kehoe (73.8 percent; 107-for-145). Johnson has scored 213 points (14.2 ppg) in 15 games. That total surpasses his 209 points (6.9 ppg) in 30 games at Illinois last season.
• Yaxel Lendeborg has scored in double figures in back-to-back games and in 11 games overall this season, tying Johnson for the team lead. The duo has combined for 413 of Michigan's 1,419 points this year -- just about 30 percent (29.2).
• Aday Mara has blocked at least one shot in every game this season, tallying multiple blocks in 12 contests -- including 10 of his last 11 games. He opened the season with back-to-back, career-best five-block performances. Mara leads the Big Ten with 2.53 blocks per game and ranks 13th nationally.
• Elliot Cadeau's 19 points -- all scored in the second half -- against Wisconsin tied his career high, previously set against Miami (Fla.) while at UNC (Feb. 2, 2024). Cadeau is the only Wolverine to have made at least one three-pointer in every game this season. His 26 triples are quickly approaching his two-year total at UNC (39).
• Trey McKenney, averaging 10.6 points per game, has scored double figures in eight of his last 10 games. He is tied for the team lead with 26 three-pointers and leads the Wolverines with an 86.8 percent free throw percentage.
• Roddy Gayle Jr. has knocked down at least one three-pointer in six straight games. One of the nation's top "Sixth men," he is averaging 10.1 points per game while shooting an efficient 50 percent from the floor.
