
Wolverines to Close Out Road Slate at Duke

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team will close out its regular-season road schedule on Sunday (May 4) at the Duke Twilight in Durham, N.C. Field action at Morris Williams Stadium will begin with the discus throw at 2 p.m., while track action will begin at 5 p.m. with the 4x400-meter relay.
Notes
• A pair of event groups are ranked in the latest U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Event Squad Rankings, with the shot put squad at No. 4 and the 400-meter hurdles squad ranked No. 10.
• U-M competed at the GVSU Extra Weekend Meet on Saturday (April 26), with a trio of Wolverines hitting the track. Maya Anderson finished third in the long jump (5.58 meters, 18 feet, 3.75 inches), Kourtney Rathke cleared 3.81m (12-6) to win the pole vault and Meredith Soule ran a personal best 1:01.62 in the 400-meter hurdles to finish second.
• At Florida (April 18-19), the 4x400-meter relay team of Payton Smith, Savannah Sutherland, Sidney Green and Noelani Phillips finished ninth with a time of 3:30.17 to set a new program record.
• Sutherland also ran a season-best 53.46 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles for the win. The time is No. 1 in the NCAA and just 0.20 seconds shy of her personal best.
• Iliana Downing cleared a personal best 4.20m (13-9.25) in the pole vault, the No. 4 mark on the program performers list and the best mark by a freshman in program history. In the shot put, Abigail Russell threw for a personal-best 16.32m (53-6.5) and the No. 5 mark on the program performers list.
• At Wake Forest (April 17-18), Samantha Hastie posted a personal-best time of 4:15.95 to finish 18th in the 1,500-meter run. Hastie's time was just 0.86 seconds shy of the No. 10 time on the program performers list.
• In the 800-meter run open section, Alyna Lewis (2:08.51) and Hannah Pricco (2:10.89) posted personal-best times.
