The Bruins took the doubles point, winning 6-2 at No. 3 and 6-3 at No. 1. Swenson and Mert Oral were tied with Spencer Johnson and Aardarsh Tripathi 4-4 at No. 2 when play was halted.
Nicholas Steiglehner and Swenson both earned first-set victories for the Wolverines. Steiglehner jumped out to a 3-1 lead on Alexander Hoogmartens and won the final three games for a 6-2 first set. Hoogmartens responded with a second-set win to force a third. The pair were tied at 2-all when the match was called.
Swenson had a wild first set with No. 110-ranked Emon van Loben Sels. Tied at 2-2, the two broke each other through the next five games before Swenson was able to consolidate on his third break to take the set 6-4. He was able to consolidate another break in the second set to gain a 4-2 lead and hung on to serve up an ace to take the match 6-4, 6-4.
No. 32-ranked Spencer Johnson proved too much for Alex Cairo at No. 5 singles, giving UCLA a 2-0 lead with matching 6-1 scores. Patorn Hanchaikul fell 6-3, 6-1 to Kaylan Bigun at No. 3 singles, putting the Bruins ahead 3-0 before Swenson got Michigan on the board.
