WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team opened competition at the Wake Forest Invitational on Thursday (April 17) at Ketner Stadium.
Mara Longenecker (16:59.81) and Katelyn Watkins (17:12.75) posted personal bests in the 5,000-meter run, finishing seventh and 12th, respectively. Watkins shaved nearly 40 seconds off her previous best.
In the 10,000-meter run, Gabbie Michael placed 17th with a time of 35:19.39.
On Saturday (April 18), the Maize and Blue will close out the Wake Forest Invitational at 11:50 a.m. at Ketner Stadium and will open the Tom Jones Invitational at noon at James G. Pressly Stadium at Percy Beard Track in Gainesville, Fla.
