
U-M Sets Three Top Program Marks at USF Alumni Invitational

TAMPA, Fla. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team opened the outdoor season on Friday (March 21) in Tampa, Fla., at the USF Alumni Invitational, setting three top-10 program marks.
Abigail Russell finished second in the shot put with a 16.13m (52-11), the No. 5 mark on the program performers list. Clare McNamara placed ninth with a personal best of 14.56m (47-9.25).
Amare Harlan remained strong after the indoor season, winning the long jump with a mark of 6.07m (19-11) in her outdoor debut. The mark ranks No. 8 on the program performers list. Maya Anderson posted a personal-best mark of 5.63m (18-5.75) in the long jump to finish 10th.
Harlan set her second top-10 mark of the day in the 200-meter dash, finishing third with a time of 23.38 to rank No. 3 on the program performers list.
Sidney Green took second in the 400-meter hurdles (58.05), just 0.58 seconds off her personal best.
Ainsley Workman finished first in the 5,000-meter run with a personal-best time of 16:50.52, shaving 39 seconds off her previous best. Abby Bonnema also recorded a personal best, finishing fifth (17:26.85).
The Maize and Blue will conclude the USF Alumni Invitational on Saturday (March 22) beginning at 12:30 p.m. with the 4x100-meter relay.
