
Michigan to Travel West for Aztec Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 16-ranked University of Michigan water polo team (7-5) heads back to the West Coast for the Aztec Invitational, Friday through Sunday (March 14-16) in San Diego, Calif. The Wolverines open play on Friday (March 14), facing Bucknell (11-8) at 1:30 p.m. PT at the Aztec Aquaplex. On Saturday (March 15), U-M will take on No. 2 USC (17-1) at 1:30 p.m. PT inside the Aztec Aquaplex before meeting No. 11 UC San Diego (11-10) at 6 p.m. PT at the Canyonview Aquatic Center in La Jolla, Calif. Michigan will conclude the tournament on Sunday (March 16) with a single matchup against No. 12 Harvard (16-1) at 9 a.m. PT inside the Aztec Aquaplex. Saturday's contest against UC San Diego will be streamed live on ESPN+.

• Michigan returns to the pool after a dominant showing at the Convergence Tournament in Pomona, Calif., where the Wolverines swept all four games, outscoring their opponents 60-34.
• Ari Karampetsou led the offensive charge with nine goals over the weekend, highlighted by a three-goal performance against then-No. 12 Loyola Marymount. Her standout play earned her CWPA Rookie of the Week honors for the third time this season.
