
Michigan to Host Wolverine Invitational, Honor Senior Class

ANN ARBOR, Mich.-- The University of Michigan women's track and field team will honor its 15 seniors and graduate students when it hosts the Michigan Invitational on Saturday (Feb. 8) at the U-M Indoor Track Building. Field events will begin at 10 a.m. with the weight throw, while track events will start at 11:40 a.m. with the 60-meter hurdles preliminaries. Senior day recognition will occur following the conclusion of the meet.
Notes
• Mia Manson is the lone Wolverine who competed at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational last weekend, finishing third in the pentathlon. With a score of 3,683, Manson's mark is No. 15 in the Big Ten.
• Manson sat fourth through the first two events, clearing a career-best 1.67 meters (5 feet, 5.75 inches). She dropped to fifth after throwing 9.43m (30-11.25) in the shot put but moved back into fourth after jumping 5.69m (18-8.0) in the long jump to come just 0.06m from her personal best. In the final event, she ran 2:29.22 in the 800-meter run to secure a third-place finish.
• Elizabeth Tapper and Savannah Sutherland set program records in their last meets, with Tapper setting the shot put record (17.32m/56-10) and Sutherland setting the 200-meter dash record (23.26 seconds). Tapper set the standard for the third straight meet, while Sutherland set the standard for the second straight meet.
• After receiving votes on the preseason Bowerman Watch List, Sutherland once again received votes on the watch list's first update of the regular season on Wednesday (Feb. 5).
