
Four Swimmers to Compete for Best Times at OSU’s Last Chance Meet

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Four swimmers from the No. 10-ranked University of Michigan women's swimming and diving team (5-1, 2-1 Big Ten) will attempt to qualify for the NCAA Championships on Sunday (March 2) at the Last Chance Meet in Columbus, Ohio. The meet will take place at Ohio State's McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion, and is scheduled for a noon start.
Notes
• Malia Amuan will hit the pool one last time before the national championships. Amuan shined at the Big Ten Championships, swimming the third leg of the 800-yard freestyle relay that won the Big Ten title. Amuan was one of nine Wolverines to land on the All-Big Ten first team.
• Freshman Leila Fack made an impact in her conference championships debut, finishing 10th overall in the 100-yard butterfly finals with a time of 52.29. Fack earned All-Freshman team honors for her efforts.
• Natalie Kan will return to Columbus after placing fifth in the 100-yard butterfly at the Big Ten Championships with a time of 52.36. Kan's season-best mark in the event is 52.04.
• Ella Jo Piersma impressed at the Big Ten Championships, reaching the "A" final in both the 100 and 200-yard butterfly events. Piersma posted a time of 52.37 in the 100-yard butterfly to finish sixth and a mark of 1:56.38 in the 200-yard event.
• Following the Last Chance Meet, U-M will learn who has qualified for the NCAA Championships on March 5.
