With Charney and Jessica Bernales the remaining Wolverines on court, Charney clinched the match for Michigan at No. 2 with a 6-4, 6-4 win. Charney raced out to a 5-1 lead in the first set before Kylie Collins won three straight games to get the set back on serve. Charney came through in the ensuing game, winning on the deuce point to get the win.
Charney was tied at 3-3 in the second set after Miller won for a 3-2 Michigan lead. Charney won three of the final four games in the set to clinch the match for the Maize and Blue. Bernales was up 4-0 in the third set when the match was abandoned.
