ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Winners of six straight games, the 12th-ranked University of Michigan men's basketball team (20-5, 12-2 Big Ten) host a Maize Out at Crisler Center for the first of two meetings with 14th-ranked Michigan State (21-5, 12-3). The game is scheduled for an 8 p.m. tip on FOX with Jason Benetti, Robbie Hummel, and Bill Raftery on the call. The Spartans will then host the Wolverines in the Big Ten regular-season finale on March 9.
Notes
• Michigan plays three of its next six games over a seven-day period. U-M plays five of those final six regular-season games over 13 days. The final six-game stretch begins and ends against Michigan State -- at Crisler Center (Feb. 21) and the finale at the Breslin Center (March 9). Four of the last six games will be at Crisler Center, including three of the last four.
• U-M's game with MSU is the eighth sellout at Crisler Center. It is the most in two seasons and marked the 15th season (58 total) of eight or more sellouts at Crisler.
• Michigan has not had back-to-back home games since the end of December.
• Michigan leads Michigan State, 104-90, in the all-time series. No. 12 Michigan and No. 14 Michigan State face each other as ranked opponents for the first time since 2020 -- an 87-69 Spartan win at the Breslin Center (U-M was 12th and MSU was 14th). Overall U-M is 6-10 when both teams are ranked.
• Michigan has gone 2-3 in its five against the Spartans, dropping the last two. The Wolverines have won four of the last five meetings at Crisler Center.
• Michigan heads into the battle at Michigan State on a six-game winning streak. During the streak, all six victories have been decided for four or fewer points. U-M has 13 games (9-4) decided by four or fewer points -- 10 (9-1) in B1G play.
• Danny Wolf is the lone Big Ten player to average a double-double -- 12.9 ppg and 10.0 rpg). He ranks second with 11 double-doubles (Maryland's Julian Reese, 12).
• U-M is shooting 49.0 percent, ranking third in the Big Ten and 14th nationally. Vladislav Goldin is shooting 64.0 percent, which ranks second in the Big Ten (Indiana's Oumar Ballo, 64.0%) and seventh nationally.
• For the third time, Goldin and Wolf have produced a double-double in the same game. Goldin had 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Wolf had 17 and 11 at Ohio State. Wolf scored 15 of his 17 points in the second half. "Area 50-1" has each had a double-double against Iowa and vs. Oklahoma.
• Dusty May's 20th win helped him to three straight 20-plus win seasons -- Florida Atlantic: 2023 (35-4), 2024 (25-9), and Michigan: 2025 (20-5). May has a record of 80-18 over his last three seasons as head coach.
• May's 12 wins in the Big Ten tie him with Steve Fisher (12-6; 1989-80) for the most conference victories for a first-year Michigan head coach.
