
Michigan to Head to East Coast for Trio of Ranked Matchups

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 16-ranked University of Michigan water polo team (2-3) will head to the East Coast for three games. The Wolverines will start the weekend on Saturday (Feb. 22) with a matchup against No. 24 Brown at 10 a.m. in Providence, R.I., before traveling to Boston, Mass., to face No. 13 Princeton at 6 p.m. U-M will close the trip with a game on Sunday (Feb. 23) at 9 a.m. taking on No. 12 Harvard at 9 a.m. Saturday's game versus Princeton will be streamed live on ESPN+.
Notes
• U-M returns to the pool after a 1-2 weekend at the Midwest Invitational in Bloomington, Ind., dropping its opener against then-No. 20 Wagner before defeating then-No. 12 Indiana and falling to then-No. 2 Stanford.
• Ari Karampetsou was named CWPA Rookie of the Week for the second time this season after netting nine goals at the Midwest Invitational. The freshman leads the Wolverines' offensive efforts with 20 points in five games.
• Sophomore Jillian Schlom recorded a career milestone by netting her first collegiate hat trick in Michigan's victory over Indiana. Throughout the Midwest Invitational, she contributed a total of seven points to the U-M offensive attack.
• Emma Gustafsson remained a key offensive contributor for Michigan, finding the back of the net four times throughout the weekend to help bolster its scoring efforts.
• In the Wolverines' battle against Stanford, Issy Jackson stepped up offensively, scoring twice to help keep the Wolverines within striking distance.
• Demonstrating depth in scoring, 11 different Wolverines registered goals throughout the weekend, showcasing their balanced offensive production.
• Looking ahead, Michigan will face Brown, a team it defeated twice last season. The Wolverines hold a 28-4 all-time record over the Bears.
• The Maize and Blue will also take on Princeton, a team it faced three times last season. Although Michigan came up short in each contest, they fell by fewer than three goals in each matchup. Despite last year's results, the Wolverines 27-11 lead in the all-time series against the Tigers.
• Michigan will lastly face Harvard, a team it defeated three straight times last season to extend its all-time series lead to 21-1.
