
U-M Tops Virginia to Finish Third at CSCAA Dual Meet Challenge

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The No. 11-ranked University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team wrapped up competition on Sunday (Nov. 23) at the CSCAA Dual Meet Challenge, defeating Virginia, 37-19, to take third at the meet.
The team of Jack Wilkening, Luka Mladenovic, Tyler Ray and Ole Eidam combined to win the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:23.48.
Antoine Sauve opened the individual events by winning the 200-yard freestyle in 1:32.26, lowering his previous personal best from earlier in the meet.
Fellow freshman Mladenovic continued his strong weekend with a victory in the 100-yard breaststroke in 51.55. Eidam earned his first individual win of the challenge by taking the 50-yard freestyle in 19.77.
Sauve added another season-best performance in the 100-yard freestyle, winning the event in 42.16. Mladenovic completed a sweep of the breaststroke races by taking the 200-yard event in 1:51.99.
Lorne Wigginton controlled the 500-yard freestyle, winning by more than six seconds with a time of 4:16.04. Ray closed out Michigan's scoring with a first-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly in 44.89.
Michigan will take an extended break from competition before returning to Canham for a rivalry dual with Indiana on Jan. 9 at 12 p.m.
