
Wolverines Drop to No. 3 Indiana in Canham

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 11-ranked Michigan Men's swimming and diving team came up short in a tough contest, 187-113, against No. 3-ranked Indiana University on Friday (Jan. 9) at Canham Natatorium. The contest marks the Wolverines' first official loss on the 2025-26 campaign.
The Maize and Blue (5-1, 2-1 Big Ten) opened the meet with another victory in the 200-yard medley relay, as Jack Wilkening, Luka Mladenovic, Tyler Ray, and Ole Eidam combined for a time of 1:23.63
Mladenovic continued his incredible year, picking up a win in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke with times of 51.69 and 1:52.22, respectively. He also added a second-place finish in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:43.94. Mladenovic has already claimed three Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors this season.
Ray also had a successful individual outing -- winning the 100-yard butterfly with a 45.54 and placing second in the 50-yard free with a 19.24.
The Wolverines shone in the 200-yard butterfly with the top two finishers, as Colin Geer touched the wall at 1:43.37 and Lorne Wigginton just behind at 1:43.54.
Wigginton added another second-place finish in the 500-yard free with a 4:17.83.
To close out the meet, Eidam, Logan Zucker, Wilkening and Antoine Sauve put up a time of 2:52.18 in the 400-yard freestyle relay, ending Friday's meet with another second-place finish.
Up next, Michigan will travel to Columbus to face rival Ohio State on Saturday (Jan. 17). The meet will take place at noon at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
