
Nielsen Adds Nine on Signing Day

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan women's lacrosse head coach Hannah Nielsen announced Wednesday (Nov. 12) the signing of nine student-athletes to scholarship agreements. The list includes Emily Alperstein, Caroline Condon, Molly Dougherty, Ella Gould, Isabel Jackson, Ellie Kaplan, Cat McBride, Abbie Rattay and Julie Shaughnessy.
The class is made up of eight midfielders and one defender.
"We are thrilled to be signing this class today," said Nielsen. "It is a class we know will have an immediate impact on our program, both on the field and culturally. They are outstanding people and players who complement each other incredibly well. We are so excited for them to arrive at Michigan in the fall."

Emily Alperstein | D | 5-8 | Arlington, Va. | Club: Capital Lacrosse Club
• Prepped at St. Stephens and St. Agnes School
• Plays club lacrosse for Capital Lacrosse Club, which is a top-10 team in the nation
• Earned U.S. Lacrosse All-America honors as a junior
• Notched all-state honors as a junior
• Was an All-Met (Washington Post) Honorable Mention citation as a junior
• Notched All-ISL first team honors in her junior campaign
• Was the only junior captain on her team
• Helped her team to a VISAA State Championship in her sophomore season
• Reached the ISL Final in all three seasons and the VISAA Semifinals in her freshman and junior seasons
• Helped her team to an AA Division regular-season co-championship as a freshman
• Is a three-year varsity starter
Caroline Condon | M | 5-7 | Morristown, N.J. | Club: CLC Elite
• Prepped at Morristown High School
• Plays club lacrosse for CLC Elite, which ranks in the top 30 nationally
• Earned All-America honors as a junior
• Named all-state and NJ All-Group IV as a junior
• Helped her team to a state championship in her sophomore season
• Appeared in the state semifinals as a freshman and the state quarterfinals as a junior
• Helped her team to two Morris County Championships and a Stars and Stripes Red Conference Championship
• Also helped the team to a NJ Group IV North Sectional championship as a sophomore
• Is a three-time all-league and all-county honoree
• Earned all-state and NJ All-Group IV as a sophomore
• Tallied more than 100 career draw-control wins in her sophomore campaign
• Surpassed 200 career draw controls, 100 career points, 100 career goals and 100 career ground balls in her junior season
Molly Dougherty | M | 5-8 | Glenside, Pa. | Club: HHH Philly
• Prepped at William Penn Charter
• Played club lacrosse for HHH Philly, which ranks inside the top 10 nationally
• Helped her team to back-to-back semifinal appearances
• Finished second in the PASIAA championship as a freshman
• Earned first team All-Inter-Ac as a junior
• Surpassed 100 career goals in her sophomore season
• Notched second team All-Inter-AC in her sophomore campaign
Ella Gould | M | 5-8 | Nyack, N.Y. | Club: Prime Time
• Prepped at Nyack High School
• Plays club lacrosse for Prime Time, which ended the summer ranked No. 9 nationally by U.S. ClubLax
• Is a member of the USA U19 team
• Helped her team to three undefeated league championships
• Earned a Section I championship as a junior and an appearance in the Class C Section I State Regionals
• Heads into her senior season with more than 200 goals and 200 draw-control wins
• Earned a spot on the Section 1 LoHud Preseason Watch List and the LoHud Elite 11 as a junior
• Helped her team to a Class C Section I runner-up finish as a sophomore and a Class C Section I semifinalist at a freshman
• Recorded more than 100 career assists and 100 career draw controls in her sophomore campaign
• Named all-section twice and had an honorable mention nod as a freshman
• Scored more than 100 goals in her freshman season

Isabel Jackson | M | 5-7 | College Park, Australia | Club: Woodville
• Prepped at Wilderness School in Australia
• Plays club lacrosse for Woodville
• Selected to play in the World Cup for the U20 Australian National Team
• Named the MVP for Australia in the bronze medal game at the U20 World Cup
• Is a member of the U18 Australian National Team
• Won the U18 National Championship and was named overall tournament MVP
• Was the leading scorer and had an .800 draw-control win percentage at the national championship tournament
• Named the MVP of U18 National Championship playoffs
• Earned U18 All-Australian team honors
• Notched WLC U18 MVP and League U18 MVP honors
• Garnered U18 Best and Fairest, the Senior State League Rising Star award and the U17 Sportswoman of the Year
• Was the junior champion and WLC MVP in her sophomore season
• Scored 148 goals in the U15 lacrosse club season which led to MVP honors
Ellie Kaplan | M | 5-6 | Elverson, Pa. | Club: HHH Philly
• Prepped at Twin Valley High School
• Plays club lacrosse for HHH Philly, which is ranked inside the top 10 nationally
• Named a USA Lacrosse All-American in her junior season
• Earned Berks County Player of the Year honors as a junior
• Was named a team captain and was the team MVP in her junior campaign
• Scored more than 100 goals in her junior year
• Is a two-time all-conference honoree
Cat McBride | M | 5-4 | Washington Crossing, Pa. | Club: HHH Philly
• Prepped at Council Rock North High School
• Plays club lacrosse for HHH Philly, which ranks inside the top 10 nationally
• Helped her team to the second round of playoffs for three seasons
• Is a three-time first team all-conference honoree
• Earned conference MVP honors as a junior
• Became the first junior in school history to record 200 career goals in her junior campaign
• Was one of only two women's lacrosse players in school history to score 100 goals as a sophomore
• Set the freshman single-game record with seven goals
Abbie Rattay | M | 5-5 | Ledgewood, N.J. | Club: STEPS Elite
• Prepped at Roxbury High School
• Plays club lacrosse for STEPS Elite, which ranks fifth nationally
• Named a five-star recruit by Inside Lacrosse
• Is a two-time first team All-Morris County honoree and earned second-team honors as a freshman
• Notched first team All-NJIGLL Independence Blue honors three times
• Recorded 200 career points and 200 career goals in her junior campaign
• Helped her team to a conference co-championship as a freshman
• Led her team to its first state playoff win in six years in her junior season with the game-winning goal
• Scored a game-high 10 goals en route to earning Field Player of the Week honors as a sophomore
Julie Shaughnessy | M | 5-4 | Syosset, N.Y. | Club: Long Island Top Guns
• Prepped at Syosset High School
• Plays club lacrosse for the Long Island Top Guns, which ranks No. 1 nationally
• Named a five-star recruit and ranked as high as No. 9 nationally
• Helped her team to the county finals twice and the semifinals once
• Is a three-time all-county honoree
• Led the Nassau County Power Conference in points as a junior
• Invited as part of the first wave Long Island All-American Team in her junior season
• Held the second-highest points-per-game average in the conference
• Led all freshmen in the county in total points
