
Manson Finshes Third in Pentathlon at PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Mia Manson of the University of Michigan women's track and field team represented the Maize and Blue at the PNC Lenny Lyles hosted by Louisville on Friday (Jan. 31), finishing third in the pentathlon at the Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center.
Manson opened the day with the 60-meter hurdles, running 8.98 seconds and finishing fifth. The graduate student set a career best in the high jump in the second event, clearing 1.67 meters (5 feet, 5.75 inches) to move into fourth place in the overall standings with 1,732 points.
Throwing 9.43m (30-11.25) in the shot put, Manson dropped to fifth before moving back into fourth after jumping 5.69m (18-8.0) in the long jump. She was just 0.06m shy of tying her career best.
In the final event, Manson ran 2:29.22 in the 800-meter run to finish third in the pentathlon with 3,683 total points.
The Wolverines will return home to host the Michigan Invitational next Saturday (Feb. 8) at the U-M Indoor Track Building.
