
U-M to Welcome Miami (Ohio) to Canham for Senior Day

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 10-ranked University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team (3-1) will take on Miami (Ohio) (3-1) on Saturday (Feb. 1) at 1 p.m. inside Canham Natatorium. The Senior Day meet will be streamed live on B1G+.
Notes
• Michigan is coming off a 188-112 win over Ohio State on Jan. 18, its first win over the Buckeyes since the 2019-20 season.
• Prior to the meet, the program will honor seven men's senior swimmers and divers -- Brendan Fitzpatrick, Cameron Gammage, Gal Groumi, Connor Hunt, Kameron Liberman, Cameron Luarde and Jacque Wenger -- for their contributions to the team.
• Tyler Ray led the way for Michigan against the Buckeyes, notching two event wins in the 100- and 200-yard butterfly events. Ray logged a time of 46.74 seconds in the 100-yard race and a mark of 1:45.26 in the 200-yard event.
• Gammage swept both diving events against Ohio State, posting a one-meter score of 389.40 and a three-meter mark of 408.68. For his efforts, the senior was named Big Ten Diver of the Week on Jan. 22.
• Jon Jøntvedt earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors after winning the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 9:05.34 against Ohio State.
• Colin Geer continues to shine in his second year in Ann Arbor. The sophomore won the 200-yard individual medley last time out with a time of 1:45.85. He also took second in the 200-yard breaststroke and 200-yard butterfly against the Buckeyes.
• Eitan Ben-Shitrit took three top-three finishes against Ohio State, including a win in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:44.92Â
• The Wolverines and Redhawks will meet for the third time in program history. U-M has taken both previous meetings, most recently in the 2019-20 season.
