
Kittay Joins Michigan Men's Tennis Team

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan men's tennis head coach Sean Maymi has announced the addition of transfer Benjamin Kittay to the Wolverines' 2024-25 roster.
Kittay spent the last two seasons at the University of North Carolina, where he won more than 50 singles and doubles matches. This past season, he played at the No. 1 and 2 positions in singles, ranking as high as No. 60 in the ITA rankings. The Lauren Springs, Md., native was named All-ACC in doubles, playing at the No. 1 spot, and ranked as high as No. 26 in the ITA. During his freshman campaign, Kittay and his doubles partner reached the round of 32 at the NCAA Doubles Championship while posting a 12-6 singles record.
Prior to his collegiate career, Kittay was ranked as the No. 1 player in the state of Maryland and was ranked No. 2 by recruiting.net for the Class of 2022. He has won five ITA junior singles and doubles titles and played at both Junior Wimbledon and Junior US Open. In 2019, he won the USTA Boys National doubles championship with partner Hugo Hashimoto in Kalamazoo, Mich. Kittay boasts a career-high Universal Tennis Ranking of 13.21.
