ROSEMONT, Ill. -- University of Michigan volleyball outside hitter Allison Jacobs and opposite hitter Valentina Vaulet were named All-Big Ten, with Jacobs earning a spot on the first team and Vaulet earning a spot on the second team, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 4).
Jacobs tallied 335 kills and a .243 hitting percentage with 186 digs. Through the first 20 games of the season, she registered 19 double-digit kill games with a high of 25 twice. After returning from an in-season injury, Jacobs was back to the back row for the final three matches. Before the injury, she averaged 4.09 kills per set, which was sixth in the Big Ten. This is Jacobs' first all-conference team selection, and she becomes the first Wolverine to be named to the All-Big Ten first team since Jess Mruzik in 2022. Jacobs was also chosen as Michigan's Sportsmanship honoree.
Vaulet led Michigan in kills by the end of the season with 355 and averaged 3.29 per set. She was also a weapon at the service line with 63 aces, which was second in the Big Ten and good for third all-time in program history. In the final 10 games of the season, Vaulet tallied nine double-digit kill matches and eclipsed 20 or more three times with a high of 26 in the Wolverines' final match. She finished 15th in the conference in kills per set, second in aces per set, and 12th in points per set. Vaulet becomes just the fifth Wolverine named to the All-Big Ten second team and the first since Hannah Grant in 2022.
