ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's soccer team (8-4-7) will open the NCAA Tournament with a first-round matchup with Robert Morris (9-6-3) on Thursday (Nov. 21) at 6 p.m. at U-M Soccer Stadium. The match will be streamed live on ESPN+.
Notes
• Michigan will play the NCAA Tournament for the ninth time in program history and first time since 2019. The Wolverines have advanced at least one round in seven of the eight previous appearances in the NCAA Tournament.
• U-M is one of five Big Ten teams to make this season's NCAA Tournament, joining Indiana, Maryland, Ohio State and UCLA.
• Bryce Blevins was named to the Big Ten All-Tournament team for his efforts in leading U-M to the Big Ten Tournament final. The graduate student notched an assist in both the quarterfinal and semifinal matches and buried a penalty to help Michigan win the shootout over UCLA in the semifinal.
• Jason Bucknor was also named to the all-tournament team after scoring the game-winner against No. 2-seeded Indiana. Bucknor leads the Wolverines with six goals on the season.
• Isaiah Goldson was solid in goal for the Maize and Blue against Ohio State, notching six saves. The sophomore has stopped four shots or more in four of his last five starts. Among keepers with 10 or more starts, Goldson ranks fifth in the Big Ten in goals-against average at 1.14.
• Michigan has played its opening match at home in each of the past eight NCAA Tournaments and is seeking its first tournament win since the 2012 season.
• Michigan's defense continues to be stingy on opposing offenses, allowing one goal or fewer in each of the past seven matches.
• U-M will face Robert Morris for the second time in program history and first in the NCAA Tournament. U-M won the lone meeting 2-1 in 2001. The Colonials will be the 15th different opponent Michigan has faced in the NCAA Tournament.
