
U-M to Face OSU for B1G Tournament Championship Sunday

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 7-seeded University of Michigan men's soccer team (8-3-7, 2-3-5 Big Ten) will head to Columbus, Ohio, on Sunday (Nov. 17) to take on top-seeded and No. 1-ranked Ohio State (13-1-3, 7-1-2 Big Ten) for the Big Ten Tournament championship. The match will kick off at 3 p.m., and will be nationally broadcasted on the Big Ten Network. Â

• Michigan advanced past UCLA by winning the penalty shootout, 4-2, in the semifinal round of the Big Ten Tournament to reach the title match on Sunday (Nov. 17) against top-seeded Ohio State in Columbus.Â
• Uriel Zeitz scored his first goal of 2024 against UCLA, marking the ninth different player to find the back of the net for the Maize and Blue this season.
• Bryce Blevins tallied his second assist in as many games on Zeitz's score, upping his season total to eight helpers. Blevins has notched at least one point in three of the last four games, and was named to the All-Big Ten second team on Nov. 8.
• Ethan Wood earned his second start of the season -- and came up clutch with three saves in regulation and two penalty saves during the shootout to propel Michigan to the final.
• The Michigan defense has stepped up in tournament play, allowing five combined shots on target in two matches and one goal. U-M has allowed one goal or less in each of the last six matches.
• Jason Bucknor leads the team with six goals, most recently scoring the game-winner in the quarterfinal match against Indiana. Bucknor's goal total is tied for fourth in the conference.
• Michigan has reached the Big Ten Tournament final for the first time since 2019 and is seeking its first tournament title since the 2010 season. The Wolverines advanced by prevailing in a penalty shootout -- the first time U-M has won a shootout in the conference tournament since 2008.
• U-M will meet Ohio State for the fifth time in the Big Ten Tournament and the first since 2014, when the Buckeyes prevailed, 1-0.
